The international Fossil Fools Day of action saw actions across the world targeting fossil fuel infrastructure! Highlights in the Americas include:

portland-4-1-banner.JPG<—Stumptown Earth First! performed a four-story banner hang off of the Burnside Bridge in downtown Portland, OR. The banner reads “No New Pipelines” with a no LNG logo directly in the middle. The Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Pipeline is a proposed project that involves three LNG processing terminals and over 600 miles of new pipeline throughout Oregon.

In New York, NY, more than 25 “Billionaires for Dirty Energy” blockaded the entrance of Citibank’s headquarters in protest of the bank’s role in coal financing—>

In Waterloo, ON, Canada, activists blockaded a Shell station in protest of that company’s investment in the Canadian tar sands.

Among other targets of foolery were Florida Power and Light, Duke Energy Company in Indiana, and an Olympia Bank of America. Outside the Americas, actions included a blockade of a major gas terminal in Norfolk, UK and the occupation of a coal mine in Wales.
