Texas I-10 News
Jul 31st, 2008
Budget shortfalls have led to the indefinite postponement of plans to widen several sections of I-10 in Texas, although construction is still proceeding on some portions.
Plans to widen 85 miles of I-10 (from four lanes to six) between the Lousiana border and Harris County began almost 10 years ago, and work has been completed from FM 1410 to Texas 61. Work is ongoing between North Dewitt Road in Vidor to Texas 62 near Pinehurst and scheduled to finish in spring 2010.
Widening is put on indefinite hold between Texas 62 and the Lousiana border and between Winnie and Beaumont. Budget shortfalls have also caused the indefinite delay of plans to widen Texas 62 and FM 365.
Interstate 10 is a Corridor of the Future.
